I just sheared the bolt off mine by accident (too rusty) and am trying to replace the bolt, but I'm having a hard time getting the trim off the mirror to do so.
By any chance does anyone have an extra passenger side mirror, preferably Classic Red?
Those of you who have repaced their mirrors, how do you get it off the door? Is it the bolt behind the interior door trim?

No need to take off the door panel, everything is done from the outside. What looks like a rigid plastic cover over the base of the mirror is actually quite pliable, and can be slipped off. That will expose the mounting rail and the screws holding teh rail to the door.
Work a little more on that mirror, it can be done. Once you get the glass out, you can replace the rusted through bolt with a new one.

yep what Bill said. My driver's side mirror broke off last summer and I just took the base off, went to home depot and got some hardware, and slapped it all back together.

OK... Think I have it under control. Stupid screws won't come out of the car body, so I'll just reassemble it on the car door - I hope.
Took some doing to get the black ring off the window, but did finally... Got all the hardware at Home Depot. Screw Bumpers seem to work in leiu of the bushing.
