For Sale: 1991 Mazda Miata MX-5

http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/7/web/2203000-2203999/2203973_10_full.jpg

~106k miles, clean title
1.6L, rear wheel drive
5 speed
cold air conditioning
power steering
Panasonic CD/MP3/stereo with detachable face and remote control

The car is completely factory OEM stock with exception of replacement shocks (8 adjustment setting KYB AGX) and FM/Addco 7/8"dia front anti-sway bar. I will also provide the OEM 3/4"dia front sway bar.

Accomplished within the last 20,000 miles:
new timing belt, tensioner pulleys, water pump, thermostat, crank and cam seals, valve cover seal, upper & lower radiator hoses, drive and accessory belts, CAS seal, stereo, shifter seal boot and turret seal, shocks, OEM shock boots & bump stops, Bosch Platinum +4 spark plugs, new soft top with lightly charcoal tinted glass rear window.
(~3 years ago previous owner replaced: new radiator, battery – have receipts. Aftermarket paint job fair condition with no clear coat.)

This car has been autocrossed approx 6 miles once a month and is used as a faithful daily commuter. Due to autocross, car has been on a pure diet of Mobil1 75W90 synthetic manual gear box, shifter turret & rear differential oil, Mobil1 10W30 synthetic motor oil with Napa Gold/WIX oil filters.

Burns no coolant. Burns no oil. Once in a while it may require ~1/4 quart motor oil every ~3,000 miles which is normal.

Car has been extremely reliable. Car is capable, light, balanced and fun to drive. It took 1st place SCCA S2 E-Stock last Sunday, April 2, 2006. Selling only because I just acquired another 1.6L 1991 Miata.

Current safety check decal issued this morning.

Asking $3,999.00 (cashier’s check)

Optional: Car will be sold with the 5 spoke alloy wheels off of a 1999 Miata with all season tires. (The 5 spoke wheels are OEM for the NA Miata in Europe, Canada and Japan and are 1/2" wider than the the OEM "daisy" alloy wheels.) The "daisy" wheels currently have DOT approved racing compound installed - I prefer to keep them.

And you know Rodney's red car is thinking:

"What the...?! The day after I finally win a race for him, he turns around and wants to sell me off in favor of a a prettier face. Not even a younger one, just prettier. Sheesh..."

Rather than sell the red one I think you should buy a white one. Then you'll be closer to complete.

Actually, he did...

He likes Miatas, so if I run into him, I'll tell him your car is up for sale.

good $2,545
exc $2,895

KBB Retail
Exc $4,125

honestly.. car is not that perfect but this condition is RARE on the island. Absolutely no rust. You go to a dealership and buy an excellent condition (if it even exists), you're going to end up paying taxes too.

New price $3,500

Hey, isn't that the Miata that was racing without a ROLL BAR? W/O Roll bar, I offer $1. With Roll Bar it's easily worth twice that!

Just be patient Rodney, the right buyer will eventually come along. If I was in the market, I'd get it. I know how well it has been maintained.

You're not in the market? You need a 4th one to compliment the silver, white, and yellow one!

I just kills me to have two of the same cars.

I can't handle leaving her out of the garage and seeing condensation on her every morning.

The neighbors think I'm a freak.

Until the red car is adopted by someone else, the blue car is a garage queen... Red for driving. Blue for shining - That is it's fate. This is totally against my religion.

$3,500.

I miss the way she handled. She handles better than my 'new' one... (due to the stiffer AGX shocks, anti-sway bar and race alignment. )
